Iria Leino

ria Leino, whose full name was Irja Aira Leino, was born 1932, in Helsinki and passed away 2022, in New York. She was a Finnish artist and former model who spent much of her life in New York.
Leino studied art and fashion design in Finland, including at the University of Industrial Arts, where she was taught by Tapio Wirkkala. She later received a scholarship to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and moved to France in the 1950s. In 1964, she left the modeling world, settled in New York, and began focusing on painting.
